Applications are invited from the following categories of students:

• First Year Master's Students from the Science Departments
• Third Year B.Tech Students

WRICOS (Writing Contest of SUN) is an annual international writing competition that celebrates the cultural, historical, and linguistic diversity of the Silk Roads while encouraging students to share their perspectives through creative writing.

Themes

• Poetry: Voices of the Silk Roads: Bridging Cultures
• Essay: What is the most critical challenge threatening the sustainability of modern civilization? Why do you consider this specific challenge to be the most significant? As university students, what roles should we play, and what actions must we take to address this issue?

• Results Announcement: September 21, 2026

Selected awardees will be invited to attend the 11th SUN General Assembly in Algeria, with travel support provided according to their award category.

We encourage all students to participate in WRICOS 2025–2026. This contest provides a valuable opportunity to express creativity while engaging with the diverse cultures and shared heritage of the Silk Roads.

The Government of Greece has announced its scholarship program for the 2026-2027 academic year, which includes the provision of two (2) scholarships for both under-/post graduate Indian students to pursue studies at Greek Universities. This scholarship program includes a monthly allowance of 650 Euros, an exemption from tuition fees for a preparatory year of Greek language study, and the provision of free textbooks.

Application Process - Undergraduate candidates may select up to three university departments of their preference, while prospective postgraduate applicants must have already secured admission into a Greek-speaking, tuition-free master’s program at a Greek university. Completed applications and all mandatory supporting documentation must be submitted to the Embassy of Greece in New Delhi Email, no later than July 27, 2026

The Voices Awards – The European Festival of Journalism and Media Freedom returns to Thessaloniki on 26–28 November 2026.

Among its featured categories, the Lorenzo Natali Prize celebrates journalists and initiatives that champion media freedom and excellence in journalism.

The Lorenzo Natali Prize - International Best Practices in Journalism category is open to journalists residing outside the EU and will reward inspiring work that helps newsrooms in Europe and beyond advance professional standards, collaboration, and innovation in investigation, verification, and storytelling.

Applications for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for the academic year 2027 are now open. This scholarship program is for pursuing Masters and Doctoral studies in Japan and is fully funded.

R-STEP (Ryukoku Short-Term Experience Program) is a short-term program for international students with no prior Japanese language experience. Based in Kyoto, the program is conducted entirely in English and combines introductory Japanese language study with lectures on Japanese culture, society, and Buddhism in Japan, as well as fieldwork and cultural experience in the Kansai region.

Program Schedule: Thursday, 9th July – Wednesday, 22nd July 2026

Application Period: Friday, 17th April – Friday, 8th May 2026
