Applications for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for the academic year 2027 are now open. This scholarship program is for pursuing Masters and Doctoral studies in Japan and is fully funded.

Ryukoku Short-Term Experience Program (R-STEP)

R-STEP (Ryukoku Short-Term Experience Program) is a short-term program for international students with no prior Japanese language experience. Based in Kyoto, the program is conducted entirely in English and combines introductory Japanese language study with lectures on Japanese culture, society, and Buddhism in Japan, as well as fieldwork and cultural experience in the Kansai region.

Program Fee: 280,000 JPY (The program fee cover accommodation and all field trips and cultural activities. Participants are responsible for round-trip airfare between their home country/region and Japan and personal transportation expenses within Japan.)

 

Japan–India Joint Research Initiative (LOTUS 2026 Programme)

The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) has announced the call for proposals under the LOTUS 2026 Programme (Leadership Opportunities Through Unified Synergy).

The call for proposals is open from 13 March to 9 June 2026 (12:00 JST).

The LOTUS Programme offers an excellent platform to strengthen Indo-Japanese research collaboration through joint projects, faculty exchange, and long-term academic partnerships.

Young Asians Programme

Young Asians (YA) is a 1-month virtual, not-for-profit accelerator taking place in May 2026, followed by an in-person Young Asians Festival in Singapore from 23–25 June 2026. International Festival "Future Engineers"

The festival aims to bring together talented innovators, engineering students, researchers, and startup developers from around the world. Individuals aged 6 to 40 who have innovative ideas, startup projects, or demonstrated potential in engineering and technology are invited to participate and present their projects.  The festival will be organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 28-30 April 2026.

Summer Program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel

Two summer programs taking place from June to August at HUJI:

  • Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) ) at the Einstein Institute of Mathematics and the Institute of Applied Physics. These programs offer undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research across a range of fields under the close mentorship of leading researchers.
  • Summer Science Internship for both undergraduate and graduate students. This program enables students to undertake a supervised research internship while earning academic credit.

Both programs offer students the opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in a range of scientific fields while working closely with faculty members in advanced laboratories at the Hebrew University.

Global Internships at UC Chile

IV Global Research Program:  Global Internships for Research and Practice-Based Learning

The Global Research Program is an on-site, hybrid or virtual international experience program that supports research and creative projects in UC Chile within the framework of Global Internships for Research and Practice-Based Learning.

Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies

The Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies offers up to one year of research support at Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. It is open to scholars from all social science and humanities disciplines, including historians working on German and European history since the mid-18th century.

Eligible applicants include doctoral candidates enrolled at universities outside Germany, and postdoctoral researchers who received their PhD from a non-German university within the last two calendar years or will obtain it before the fellowship begins.

LOTUS Programme (India-Japan Circulation of Talented Youths in Science Programmes)

The Call for Applications for the LOTUS Programme (India-Japan Circulation of Talented Youths in Science Programmes) is open now.  The application Deadline is August 29, 2025.  An enrolled graduate student (Masters' degree, Doctoral degree) or Postdoctoral Fellow, 40 years old and under are eligible to apply.  The program is intended to promote joint research between individual researchers.  The proposals should be based on mutual discussions between researchers from both sides.  However, the application must be submitted by the Japanese host researchers.  Researchers from the University of Delhi cannot submit proposals directly.  Applicants can apply online here
