Student Exchange
University of Delhi offers international students various ways to study, not only as degree-seeking students but also as short-term students such as exchange or casual students.
Exchange Student Program
The Exchange Student Program is for registered students of the partner Universities of the University of Delhi who wish to study at DU for one or two semesters and transfer credits to their home institution.
To be an exchange student under the umbrella of existing Academic Exchange Agreements, applicant must be a registered student of partner university and must be officially nominated by their home institution and pay the tuition fee to their home institution, not to DU. On-campus housing is facilitated.
Casual Student Program
The Casual Student Program is offered to students who are from non-partnering universities but want to study at DU for one or two semesters. The students must pay the tuition fee at DU and may request a credit transfer at their home institution. To apply for the casual student program, students must apply directly to the Foreign Students’ Registry Office, University of Delhi.
When Can I Study at the University of Delhi?
One can study either for one semester or two semesters (One Academic Year)
Full Academic Year July – May
Summer Semester July – December
Winter Semester January – May
Application Period
Summer Semester : January 1 – April 15
Winter Semester : July 1 – September 30
All required documents should be submitted to the Office of International Relations on or before the due date, documents received after the due date will not be reviewed.
Application and Documents Required
- Duly Filled Application Form for the Admission of Foreign Exchange Students at the University of Delhi
- One copy of official enrollment verification from the School where the student is currently enrolled
- Study Plan (Within 500 words)
- Copy of Passport
- Copy of the Transcripts of the semesters cleared for the current course
- Copy of the syllabi currently studying
- English Language Proficiency Score
What Can I Study at the University of Delhi?
There is a huge range of courses available at the University of Delhi. You can search Delhi University Website for course details.
Some exchange agreements are subject specific. In this case, you would be expected to choose course in that subject area only.
Check out with your study abroad advisor at your university for advice.
Accommodation
The International Relations office facilitate the accommodation at the University Hostels to International Exchange students for the full year or a single semester.
Once you receive affiliation letter to study at the University of Delhi, send the Accommodation Requirement Form expressing your interest for University accommodation.
English Language Requirement
If English is not your first language you must provide evidence of your written and spoken English skills.
